I know you're sad, Ginger, but we don't want to become quilt'nablers, do we? Buck up, sweetie, time to grab the needle and thread and step up for a lesson in hand piecing. You can do it, girlfriend!
I am so sorry to hear of your loss! Why oh why couldn't it have been a lesser machine... like mine, for instance. I've been waiting for that thing to die just so I'll have an excuse to buy a better one! Figures I get the workhorse.
Hang in there. Hand piecing isn't all THAT bad.

Oh, by all means at least try the handpiecing. I bet you'll see a whole new dimension to quilting you never felt before, so meditative and cozy. It goes quite fast really, faster than you'd think. I have just started quilting and found that I love the hand stitching quilting part *much* better than the machine piecing part, because of the quiet time peace. Heh, heh.... it should be called Hand PEACING ~ !
ps. I have in-laws and step-children in Daegu and Seoul.
Oh, I am so sorry to hear that your machine is not runing well. I did have that happen recently. I tried to clean it and oil it and get it up and running, but I finally had to take it to a repairman for a week. He found a thread I could not see wound around something under the bobbin that was binding up the works and did some general maintenance.
Even though I do some hand-piecing, I was lost without my sewing machine.
I hope yours is humming along again, soon ...
Pat

Oh you poor thing. This calls for serious medication....don't they make some kind of Rice alcohol over there? I suggest a double dose and perhaps watching a real tear-jerker of a dvd to get you through. If I was there I'd loan you mine to get you through the healing process. Hugs, KimUK
Ohh, how terrible. I know how I would feel without my sewing machine so sending lots of good wishes that it's back in good health soon. In the meantime, do try a hand project of some type. It will help ease the withdrawal pains you are having.
I feel your pain in Dec. my brother machine just would not sew it was jamming up and thread breaking I was so upset because I had a lot of Christmas sewing to do. My DH went down and bought me my first high dollar machine and I love it. I took my other one in and I have had trouble all along with it from the day we bought it. They couldn't find anything wrong whith it. It was the type of thread I was using. I was using the cheep stuff and the machine would not work with it. Now it works wonderful I gave it to my DIL and she loves it. So good luck with your machine and hope you get it soon.
