I know they have been around awhile, but I bought the book and made a cute little bowl, which I will use for paper clips on my desk.
In case, I named these wrong, these are the bowls made with cotton rope and fabric and your sewing machine.
The small bowl was fun, so I thought I am going to make a purse next, let me tell you, I think I am going to stop where I am at and have another oblong bowl instead. This sure uses a lot of rope, thread and fabric and time. It is interesting, but I don't know if I could make it through a whole purse.
It would be a good method to make handles for other projects too.

That is great I would like to see a pic, I have wondered about making one and wanted to get some more details about how involved it is, I watched the lady who was a guest on F & P forgot her name but she made it look so easy and it turned out to be great, so if all possible would you mind posting a pic.

Thanks for sharing the link to see the fabric bowl, I really am going to try and do one one of these days howver I think it would be interesting to see it as a purse although I know that it is time consuming, it is a true work of art. BTW your quilts look really great.

Thanks. Yes, I thought the bowls looked cool,, but they take time to make, esp if you go for a purse, that is a lot of rounds to sew.

I have made fabric bowls, trivets and such but have a hard time tapering off the coil when finishing. Does anyone have any suggestions or URL's for hints on finishing?

Mare I am catching up on past posts and just wanted to say your rope projects are neat and your quilts are all very nice. I have some 1" fabric rolls that someone gave me, they are old how do I determine if the fabric is to old to even mess with?
