Well folks, here it is. Flutterbye Fandango, a quilt idea I saw in Australian Patchwork and Quilting magazine. This is the first BIG free-motion quilt I've done. It was like driving an 18 wheeler through San Francisco during an earthquake...pedal to the metal and keep going. I enjoyed the ride I'll tell you that! There are about 120 butterflies on this baby. It's for my grand-daughter China.

The five rings of yellow butterflies seem to be teasing the five rings of purple butterflies into a magical dance! Are the butterflies part of the piecing or are they applique? That is lovely.
