Becca, that looks super!!!! Way to go!! Wow, just wait until you're done the whole top - it's gonna be gorgeous!!

Dorian and whoever else is doing this, yours are going to be great, too. Maybe some day I'll tackle it - when our house is done, maybe? I start painting on Monday!! Woohooo!

Thanks Gerda!

I believe Becca said she did hers by hand. I did mine by machine, but after seeing Becca's, I'm rethinking my approach. Maybe I should try one by hand and compare the results. I have 3 other quilts I need to concentrate on now before I can get back to this one.

Hmmm, maybe I ought to do mine by hand too!? I'm having such a hard time getting those squares on the hex. I think though, that my hex is slightly too big. So I am going to trim it and see if that helps too.

Well it's finally done. My problem I was having was that the hexagon was slightly too big. So I trimmed it and things then went beautifully. The quilt isn't as wide as I'd like it, so not sure what I'll do there. But it's nice and long. The picture isn't the best, because I just had dh and a child hold it up. And being long, it was hard. Smile

Has anyone else continued with this? Would love to see pictures. Here are mine...I hope..

You guys are so brave! These are gorgeous.

How difficult is it going to be to bind this quilt? Looks like lots of corners to deal with.

I'd like to try it but I don't know what to make my templates from. What do you all use? Cardboard?

Did you do strip sets for the 9-patches?

I have another question about templates. Do you trace around them on the fabric and then cut? Or do you put a template on the fabric and then use a ruler to cut along the template?
