We have a mini-Red Hat Ladies type social club for our residents. This month I invited Betty from StoryQuilts.com to come and show her quilts and tell a little about them with our Ladies. The quilts she brought put mine to shame!!! Some are quilts that she has the patterns to market, and some were her personal quilts, some were given to her, some were signature blocks from classes, etc.
I'm here to tell ya ... that Betty is the most awesome lady I've met in a long time. Besides having the most glorious quilts I've seen (some even have embellishments are go from too-cute to the most amazing I've ever seen), Betty is sweet and kind and so willing to share with all of us (even non-Residents LOL).
She recently had a show in Midland on Oct 6 (I forgot the date soo didn't make it). Be watching for her. I'm fixin' to join most of her BOMs ... they're pretty on the website but they're out of this world when you see them in person!!!!!
Sara, you and Betty sound like kindered spirits - sweet, kind and willing to share! It sounds like it was a wonderful time for all! And I love the link to her site - thanks for sharing that with us too.

Happy Quilting! Bama Deb ~ Sweet Home AL I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
Sara, what a wonderful opportunity! It sounds like she really inspired you! She has some lovely patterns.
Connie, you'll have so much fun at the show! I know one of the LQS owners here went and she said there was so much to see, she never saw it all! Make sure you wear comfy shoes!!! And take pics!!!

speaking of Red Hat ladies, I have a couple pieces of fabric in reds and purples, hats and bags and such, that I want to make into a Red Hat Lady wall hanging someday. Just need to find a good pattern - hmmm, we're creative, maybe I'll blow up some of the motifs and applique them. I love hand applique! Thanks for the reminder, Sara!
