`Hi, all! Thanks to Kim's newsletter today (thanks, Kim, I've missed it so much!!) I found a wonderful new site, and they have the pattern. http://www.threesistersfabric.com/patterns-quilt.htm
I couldn't find the thread where this was discussed, so went this route. It sure looks like a fun and easy quilt to make! Gerda Love isn't what you say, it's what you do. A day hemmed in prayer seldom unravels. Keep looking UP! When it seems there is no way out, there is always a way up! |

Hi Gerda, well it's a mite late (10:48)and am off to bed..but wanted to drop you a line.. That Take 5 pattern is great! I've made several off it, in various ways..it's fun to turn, twist or leave 'normal'..It makes a very pretty quilt, it's very versatile.. Hope you enjoy it..Another few you might enjoy (if u don't have it), is Turning Twenty, Turning Twenty Again, and Turning Twenty Around the Block.. I've used them too...Easy and quick...
OK, off to da bed...nite Jean "A fat qtr. has less calories than hot fudge." |

Hi, Jean, I haven't made any of the ones you listed, but did make the Yellow Brick Road (queen size!) for my son and his wife's wedding gift - it's another easy-peasy one.
I'll have to see if I can find a pattern source for it someday. Night, night!! Gerda A day hemmed in prayer seldom unravels. Keep looking UP! When it seems there is no way out, there is always a way up! |

Checked out both the sites. My goodness, there were a lot of patterns on the first one. I didn't care for the Take 5, maybe it was just the color combination that I didn't like. I was intriuged by the Rose Trellis, the Argyle, and the Tile Tango quilts. And the Pineapple upide Down Cake on the second site caught my eye. That is DS1's favorite cake. We have it every year for his birthday and it was the groom's cake at his wedding. I have even figured out how to do it on the grill for summer. Thanks for sharing, Gerda.

OH Meg, you must try the Take 5, it is so neat, and yes the colors on the pattern are NOT the bestest...I agree. I got a pattern several weeks ago, that if I hadn't seen it made up, I would have never even looked at the pattern, but it is so pretty, and easy to make up.. It's name is 'BQ'...by Maple Island Quilts. The picture is horrible..haha It can use a big design that you want to showcase. Mite look at their website and take a look..www.mapleislandquilts.com But you must try the Take 5, it's so fun.. (Just my 2 cents)

Jean,
I am not disputing the ease with which Take 5 goes together. OKNANA gave me a pattern for Oklahoma Shuffle which I believe is very similar and I have one called Turning Twenty. I just really don't like the colors in that quilt. Maybe when I get the other 20 bajillion gazillion quilts on my to-do list done, I will give it a whirl. Lord knows, I could use some quick and easy!
