Laura, Your quilt is beautiful!! Big Grin

It is so hard to believe that when you signed on BC at the end of January you were piecing your first top! You have become such an accomplished quilter in such a short time, you are an inspiration.

Thanks for shaing your work with us,

Pat

Thank you Pat and Janice for your kind words. I have learned a lot here from reading post and all that BC has to offer. I think one thing that helped me is that I knew how to sew I can make anything from wedding dresses to baby diapers. Thanks to my mom and dad wo gave me my first machine when I was 12. I still have that machine and it works. It was used when I got it and I love it. My DH have given some of our grandaughters sewing machine. Cheyenne is 11 and has made her first Quilt. My mom is helping her to quilt it in OKla. My son is on vacation there and this is one of the things they are doing. Again thank you for your comments it makes me feel good. Girl

Nanawing...make sure you post a pic of the quilt that your daughter made. It would be nice to see how well she did...plus we could help boost her confidence to make another, LOL. She'll never be hard to buy for if she takes up quilting...and you'll have to look for your quilting stuff, LOL.

My daughter is 9 and we're going to try to make string quilts this summer while she's out of school. I have lots of scraps and this will be something that's almost a no brainer so she won't be asking a million questions. She'll also learn some patience in the process. Her main question will be "does this match" or "does this go good together". I'll tell her "it doesn't matter because it'll be scrappy and just go with it", LOL.

Both lovely quilts, Laura, but wow! The bottom one really knocks my socks off! I might have missed the explanation somewere, but it looks to me like it is embroidered or appliqued. Is that correct? Would love to hear more about it. That one needs to go to a show to inspire others!

Thank you for your comments. It is an attic window pattern. My sister made the butterfly' over a year ago on her machine and did not know what to do with them.I saw them and said lets make a quilt. We had 80 of them she gave me half and this is what I did with mine.I still have to quilt it. My sister uded blue fabric with hers. I can't get her on the computer she is shy about typing and spelling. But she has some wonderful quilt tops.

Tell Laura we would love to meet her and hear about her beautiful work. It is an inspiration. Does she live near you? Maybe you two could post together.
