Very cute fabric. My SIL love teapots and would love something made from this. I can't wait to see your finished quilt and maybe it will give me the push to do one as I recently bought the One Block Wonder book but haven't made one yet.

OH MY GOSH!! I was looking for something and thought I had seen it on your blog links. I somehow (I HAVE NO CLUE HOW) missed seeing your GRANDMOTHER'S HANKIE QUILT! WHAT A BREATH TAKING TREASURE!!!! Even my sweetie was hanging over my shoulder looking at it. It was a privilege to be able to see that one! What a beauty!! The kids photos are priceless!!! Sooo precious! I just bought the book "One Block Wonders" and realized you have been making these. I'd rather take a class because I've been warned they are tricky to keep lined up with cutting. Your take on that is? "It's a fine line between hobby and mental illness" ~Dave Barry~ |

Piece of cake! LOL NOT. But I did manage to get thru it. Slowly but surely. If you are used to reading directions and being able to get thru it yourself, then it really is easy. Give it a go and you will be happy that you tried it. I did the octogons and did have trouble 'sawing' thru all 8 pieces. Next time I will try the hexagons.
And thank you for all the compliments. I am still hoping to inherit the hanky quilt. My aunt has 99% of the family quilts and doesn't like to share much. But she knows how much I will love and appreciate them so I'm not giving up hope. ![]() Jenell (aka) Miss Cashew O'Nutt http://www.myquiltblog.com/billswife/ http://www.serialquilters.com/afroginthequilt/ |

Ok.... reading comprehension (in quilt patterns) is not necessarily my strong suit...lol I think I’ll wait for a class, and I believe my book shows octagons.
I think you would be a wonderful “keeper of the quilts”. They can NOT go to someone who does not understand the work and love that go into them! My first quilt teacher said she has even gotten out of her car...and bought a quilt out of a dirty dog house...lol She offered the people $30 bucks for it...and they let her take it! She said it was sooooo beautiful once she washed it. Off to make dinner for me too... Poof* "It's a fine line between hobby and mental illness" ~Dave Barry~ |
