Qult blocks are 10' square and demensions are 60x60. Block is called twisted spools Large scale block. Scrappy color theme. Found a border I like but finishes at 3 inches wide. Border is a row of stars.

So the question is: Is a three inch border block too small for a large scale quilt block? Don't want it to look funny. Should I make the stars 5" inches wide instead?

Just laid out fab under the quilt and 3" border looks perfect. Maybe I should have done that first, huh?

Looks like you answered your own question but here is what I do. I try laying out different widths for the border til one just pops. I know there is a rule but I just go by what feels right to me. It is part of the creative process.

I havent seen you post before so if you are new welcome to BC. We have alot of fun here. Take a look at some of the swaps going on and just jump in.
