Thanks for all the praise of the "star" quilt, but I really can't take credit. A few years ago, I was president of my quilt guild. It is tradition in that guild for the vice president to make/coordinate a quilt top for the president. Several ladies in the club made the top for me!!! I just layered and quilted it. The reason the picture is taken the way it is, is because it's over 8 feet long!! It's HUGE!

The pattern is made up of log cabins, just arranged according to color. Sometime, when I have time, I can make up a color key if anyone wants it and is brave enough to make one that big. Of course, the quilt could be made a little smaller by making the blocks smaller.

I've posted a copy of my quilt on my pictures page. I THINK you can print it out or download it. The stars can be made from squares and half-square triangles. The squares on mine are 10 inches, so the finished size is just over 80 x 100. If I were to ever copy it, I would reduce the squares to 8 inches, which would make it just over 64 x 80. Depends on the size you want.

Isn't that an Australian site? I don't know what the price is in U.S. dollars, and what about shipping?

If you want to find lots of American (and a few Canadian) sites, you can try www.fabshophop.com or www.quiltshops.com. Prices vary, but you can sometimes find good prices.

Morning Jeb (and all!)

Ah! I see that gorgeous log cabin heart quilt has wow'd the locals! It IS one my favorites of yours! How neat that you are getting so active in here! Even if the old boards come back up I'll believe I'll be in and out of here often.

Many nice “BC” folks...and so much beautiful work is a very positive inspiration for me! I just finished another little baby blanket (for St. Patty’s Day) but they are more like glorified pillow cases so I quit calling them quilts..lolol I also got my block (for the block of the month class) last week, and it’s nice! It’s the Tennessee Waltz block, but they combined it with a snowball block. The demo up on our quilt shop wall was done in soft taupe, dusty rose, mauves and batik pinks. IT’S STUNNING!

I am going to get on my project for our August fair soon. I'm torn between a Tennessee Waltz OR a wild "Thunderbird" wall hanging pattern I got last year. Decisions decisions!

I met a lady at work who has taken 3 “quilters CRUISES” and she brought in the quilts she had made from those vacations yesterday! They were MAGNIFICENT! I wish I would have taken photos on my cell phone of them!

Thanks for the helpful links!

Happy Friday to all! Jeb... again.. nice to see you!

Poof*
