12 blocks? Is that all? LOL Seriously, I once left out an entire row of blocks that moved diagonally across the quilt. Some little pair of hands had thoughtfully tried to help.

So I ripped apart the seams in such a way diagonally that I had two large triangular shapes. I added the missing block to onto each row on one triangle and then stitched them back to together. That was when I became a black belt partial seam master!

You can do this. No excuses!

Oknana, I forgot to tell you, if you go back to my picture link, there is an EQ drawing of the log cabin/heart quilt that you can download if you want to. It will give you a "map" for placing the blocks and including the stars. If you don't want it really big, you can make the squares 6 inches. I think the original has 8 inch blocks and is over 8 feet long.

Meg, you also are a fount of information, often historical. Whatever would we do without that? By the way, I don't have pics posted either (though a few sweeties here will post an e-mailed pic for me), so if anyone wants to "rag" on me, along with you, you got comp'ny, pal! Big Grin
Felicia, I really like that quilt, and the girls are right, it's better to rip and be happy with the result, than not. A tip, if you don't already know it, is to cut every 4th stitch (on the bobbin side if possible, but it works both ways) across the whole seam, then turn the work over, and pull on the uncut side's thread. This should pull off easily, then all you have to do is pick off (or use a lint roller) the little bits of thread. It's a much quicker method that I use all the time.

Jeb, if I haven't already said so, I sure like your quilts! and the heart/log cabin one is gorgeous!! Way to go, and thanks for sharing!

Felicia, should have mentioned - my older granddaughter would LOVE that quilt! She loves horses (and dogs, and cats, and leopards, and, and, and.............). I made her a pillowcase last year with horses - it's almost always on her bed.

Felicia, I've just added 2 quilt pictures to my link site. One, Stained Glass Garden, I made in 2004, but I just realized I had never taken a picture of it. It was a challenge to myself. I made all the bias tape and dyed all the fabric myself!!! Whew!!!!

Gerda, your granddaughter would like the other one I posted. I just finished a horse portrait. When I saw the pattern, I just HAD to make it. I had a great niece in mind when I started, but after finishing it, I decided to keep it!!! Big Grin
