Hi all,
I've been losing and re-gaining the same 4 pounds all summer! I've cut back on my eating - smaller portions, no seconds, etc., but haven't been able to get much exercise as it's been an extremely hot summer! Sorry but when it's in the 90's day after day, I just can't bring myself to do much except sit inside in the air conditioning and quilt! The heat wave finally broke this last week - now we're getting temps in the mid 70's to low 80's, so I'm back to riding my bike again.
Right now I'm at 202# - was up to almost 208# in the Spring. I'm 5'8" (or is it 7") - I know I've shrunk - need to get someone to measure my height. I really would love to get down to about 150#, but will settle for 160 or even 170# - anything is better than having this roll of blubber around my middle!
I do have a very good "inspiration" to keep me losing this time. My brother is back in the hospital again - 3rd time this year - with cellulitis - a deep tissue infection in his legs. It's mostly caused by very poor circulation in his legs, which in turn is caused by his diabetis, which was partially
caused by his being extremely overweight. He's about 5'9 or 10" and weighs about 330#! If seeing those horrible looking legs and watching him shuffle (he can't walk normal) isn't enough inspiration enough to make someone want to lose weight, I don't know what is!!!
I generally get weighed only once a week - supposed to be the best weigh (pun intended) since everyone's weight fluctuates a bit from day to day.
