I spent Saturday and Sunday trying to learn this from the book. Oh boy! did I need a teacher! I didn't get it all together yet but the blocks are all finished. This isn't the final lay out, just how they landed when I got them done. I have little squares made in the same manner that will go between each on with the intention that it will blend together.

I tried to create an album here but can only learn one thing at a time! Confused

Well, Jennell, I am not any help when it comes to technical things, but I would have to say in any size this quilt is stunning! Is this the quilt for the new grandchild?

I have to confess I questioned your choice of fabric for a baby. I thought the motif was just too big and not entirely appropriate for an infant, but I am happy to eat crow on this one. When cut smaller, but repeated in the block it makes a very dainty and charming quilt befitting of a little princess. A very successful project.

BTW, how would you like to come teach this at our retreat? It would be a technique to hold everyone's interest!

Thanks everyone for all the nice compliments. I am really pleased with the way it turned out so far. But I can't stand it! I have to try just a few more blocks to see if I can get a bit more color into it. Can anyone tell me how big a crib quilt is supposed to be?

Here are several sources for quilt and mattress sizes. I did not compare them closely to see if there is much variance in the numbers. Hope this is helpful.

Jennell, love the blocks (pink is my favorite color) they look so dainty. GREAT JOB.

What size are the block? I have a bag of batting from Walmart that says it is crib size. 45x60?
