Meg, how do you think I feel?!?!? I won't have the room, either, (unless I stand it on the landing, but I don't think that's such a good idea, either!) We'll be getting a puppy shortly after we move - I will need to buy a baby gate to keep him/her out of my stuff!!!

And I concur about the finish on any piece of wood - seal it right! As Mike Holmes would say, If you're going to do something, do it right the first time! " (FYI, he is a master builder/carpenter who has his own show on HGTV where he fixes people's houses when the original builders or contractors hired for renos, etc, screw up!! You learn a LOT just watching the show!)

My dad was, "Anything worth doing, is worth doing right."

Gerda, aren't you going to start making minitures due to the downsizing? We really must come up with some clever way to display them. Just off the top of my head, how's this....at my house? I'm ducking and running for cover! Big Grin

That's a beautiful stand you brother made Julia.

Ladies, My dh is looking for wooden things he can make. As he's not working due to medical problems, he wants to make things to sell. He is very handy with wood and makes some beautiful things. If you could have a stand that holds a lot of quilts, what would it look like? Any ideas?

Thanks, Dorian

Deb-

The green star looks to me like a block known simply as Six-pointed Star, Little Girl's Star, or Pennsylvania Hex. The earliest known example is in a book circa 1820.
