I've been busy this summer trying to finish up UFOs and getting them to their new owners. I started this quilt as a mystery quilt class over two years ago. Got the top done within a week of the class, but didn't quilt it until just before a quilt show on 4th of July in a little bedroom community just outside Portland.

This quilt went to my step daughter while she was visiting last week. I think she likes it
I freehanded the quilting on my Juki, which was very fun and relaxing, rather than trying to "stay in the lines"

Denise ... this is such a beautiful quilt! I love the colors and the way they weave in and out of the lattice pattern! So striking. Your stepdaughter certainly seems very happy with it, too ... great job!!

Is that the quilt you are sending me, Denise? I just love it and I know it will have a happy home here in Michigan. I promise to put it on my bed every May when the lilacs bloom outside my bedroom window!
Meg, I hate to bear you bad news, but it's now in an undisclosed location in MOntana! If I told you, my step daughter would have to kill both of us. LOL. she and her dh are renewing their wedding vows today, wish we could be there!

Meg, lilacs grow up here, too! I bought two bushes this year, but set them out in low areas - silly of me! and they drowned with all the rain we had, so DH cut them down. I'll start again next year.
