Because you've all been so friendly and supportive I wanted to offer a "little gift" for my birthday ("St. Patrick's Day"). I designed a quilt for Spring Quilt Market in May featuring my "Sunstreaks" fabrics in a twist on a traditional quilt pattern. What I came up with is "Spectrum2" or "Spectrum Squared".
If you go to the link below, you will see the color illustration of the quilt which should be finished in a few days (I don't have a photo yet). If you click on the link below it, you will get a .pdf file of the diagram and measurements for the strips...very basic.
I shouldn't be doing this because it hasn't been released yet but I am hoping you will keep it amongst yourselves until after market in May....please?
Please let me know what you think of the design. It will end up looking like a contemporary twist on the beautiful quilts from the Amish. Keep in mind the "movement" and "texture" the Sunstreaks will give it.
For those of you who might consider making it, I'm also going to offer one of my "Marble Mania" books to the first one who sends me a photo to post on my website of you and the quilt!
I hope this is the right place to post this. If not, let me know what topic I should post under and I'll change it, ok?
Awesome quilt I know this would be splendid in the Sunstreaks.
I am printing off the instructions now but I wonder if it's a good idea to post it here, maybe set up an email addy to request it? There is lots of eyes that are not always members who come here. Just a thought.
Happy Quilting! Bama Deb ~ Sweet Home AL I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
Well, I think it's o.k. in this case. The pattern will be released at market in May. I just wanted you all to get it early. It's a traditional enough pattern anyway. Thanks for trying to protect it though, Deb...I appreciate that! All of the files I create are dated for copyright purposes.
I just had to see what the block would look like in the Sunstreaks...1 down 34 to go
The pic is a little crooked and my memory card is full...will have to do some deleting!

GRRRRR Let's try this again...Maybe this pic will show up better...
If this doesn't work I will transfer it to photobucket

Wow - that quilt is gorgeous! I like that the design is simple Patrick because those bright, beautiful fabrics really pack a punch against the black background! It let's the fabrics shine - as well they should! Thank you so much for sharing it here with us first - you're awesome! Now I need to get busy 'cause I really would love to win that book and it looks like Debo has a headstart on me.....
