Priscilla

At the Quilts UK show in March there was a beautiful floral quilt done on black but it was appliqued not foundation pieced. I will attach a pic or two so you can see.

My first response-----WOW!!!!! Milica. Beautiful quilt. Even then that still doesn't do justice with words. I have a question--How was the variegated color done around each block?
Was it fabric or thread? My eyes don't function as well as they use to.

If memory serves me right the background fabric to each block is plain black and the quilting is done on each flower - the sashing fabric had a subtle pattern on it with sparkly bits on and quilting in black - but that quilt was exhibited way back in March this year. I would love to do one like that one day.

Trina, if it's the piping you're talking about, it's a variegated fabric - I have some in my stash (aren't I a lucky fish Smile).

That is one awesome quilt! The piping or border fabric on that one looks like the sun is hitting the quilt just right and making it sparkle.

Happy Quilting!

Priscilla - Your block is gorgeous! I have never tried any foundation piecing, but I would love to give it a whirl someday. I don't imagine that a block like that would be easy, and I am amazed at the finished product! I agree, it looks like a real photo.

Milica - Thanks for the pics, that is a gorgeous quilt. Was it all Machine applique?
