Since I had extra material left over from V's quilt, I decided to teach myself foundation piecing since the next quilt I want to make is FP.....So I decided to do hearts...first I made a potholder:

Then I got inspired to do a child's quilt for my niece for her birthday (next weekend ack!). Here is the top...I will post a pic when I finish the quilting!

Your quilts are beautiful, Ruth!

I love the colors and what you have done with the "extra" fabric. The heart quilt is lovely.

Beautiful quilts. The foundation heart one is a delight. I bought some fabric to do one for my daughter a year or two ago and its been languishing in the cupboard. Yours is an inspiration. Thank you.

A few new pics:
Here is one of the sets for the "arc" block in Judy Niemeyer's Mariner's Star. I have 11 finished and 9 left to make:

Then here are two star blocks (out of 30 -- ARGH)....I am doing combinations and some star blocks will be the opposite of others...no two the same though:

The quarters of the star get sewn on the quarters of the arc before you sew them all together....so I am waiting to have them all finished so I can see how I want to lay them all out. Right now, I am just pinning the 4 matching quarters together.... I am sure I am going to wish I had a design wall when I go to put the quilt together!
