Ruth..
Wow...what can I saw! Just a total WOW! Each project is stunning.

I did paper piecing in a class last year, but I'm blank on it for the moment. It may have been our Dresden Plate block...hmmm

I do love the hearts, and would like to make a wall hanging for Valentine's Day. Did I see the pattern posted somewhere??

The colors are just superb!! I'm stuck in an earth tone mode.. but you are breaking me free...lolol

I found the heart blocks different places.

QuiltersCache had one...http://www.quilterscache.com/B/BlankPPTemplatesPage.html

This one was my favorite to make: http://piecebynumber.com/pastbom/candybox.htm
She also has other patterns on her site.

And a bunch more:

Very nice. Makes me want to do quilting with different colors. I have the worst habit of sticking to the same rainbow of colors. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Purple, Black and White.

Ditto Traci Lou..

I have been stuck in earth tone mode for over a year...lolol

I think I'm going to make my pseudo DIL a purple, blue and white wild quilt for Christmas this year. I asked her what color she liked and she did say she liked purples and blues.

It will probably put me into culture shock..lol

Your quilts are beautiful, especially the FP blocks. Wish I could get to grips with FP but I find them just so wasteful of fabric.

Milica,
Actually, what's cool about the JN pattern is that she gives templates for each piece and you strip cut, so there is very little waste on each piece. Almost no more than the 1/4 inch seams.

I did have a hard time with FP when I was trying to figure out how big to cut my scraps and did tend to waste more because I couldn't "see" the way they fit...but as I have gotten better, I don't waste as much. And definitely not where the templates were provided.

And the JN pattern had a few tricks I had not seen before for FP. But it is definitely not a beginner's quilt.

Milica, another way to go instead of foundation/paper piecing is one I learned from Maaike Bakker's book Cups and Saucers, was to make a second copy of the PP pattern, cut apart on the lines, and trace them on to a fresh sheet of paper or template plastic, adding 1/4" all around for seam allowance, and piece as usual. No waste that way. I've done that, and it works well.
