Ok...here goes!

I posted a few of these somewhere else in here, but now I see we have a specific place for our photos. This will be an incentive to keep going on my lists of quilts to DO!!!

My first quilt class was a sampler.

Oh...and in Aug 2008 I put this quilt in the fair and it got a BLUE RIBBON! The back of this signature quilt (Ned's Quilt) was made by Scrappy Pat of BC...so I can only take credit for the front..lol

A “one patch flannel” I made for my honey last Christmas.

Aidan’s (my grandson) crib blanket

MY GRANDSON'S MONTHLY CAR BLANKETS

So far I’ve made him a novelty “car seat” blanket for each month. This will end when he's a year old in October. They’ve been fun little stress busters! Some are tied...and some are just tacked. They are novelty 100% cotton on the fronts, and nice cozy flannel on the backs.

December - Christmas Toy Theme

January - Snowflakes

February - Valentine's Day

March – St. Patty’s Day

April - Easter

May - Cute Monkey...(and that he is ...lolol)

June Blanket ~

July - there is glitter around the larger stars but it didn't pop out in the photograph.

August Quilt
SEARCHING FOR THE PHOTO...ARUGH! Roll Eyes

**************************************

Just finished this for my son. He’s a major horseman... It’s done with Thimbleberries “Street Scene” pattern

There was an hourglass block in the corners, but I replaced it with fussy cut Happy Blocks. I wanted the horse heads featured a little more

Nice quilts, Felicia! Confetti

That sampler was an ambitious first project. You must have learned a lot in that class.

Aidan's car blankets are just too cute! So soft and cuddly. I did not realize that you have made him one for each month. What a nice warm gifts that say "I love you" from Grandma.

I shall have to file this thought away (with many others) for those future grandkids I hope to have someday ... <3 <3 <3 Pat

HI Pat!
Thank you...thank you!! I have to be honest... the first couple months I felt like I AGED with every stitch...lol I was getting ulcers over some of those blocks! I'm so glad I stuck with the class because it would have been easier to QUIT...lol

Cinda kept me going when I was getting weak knees...lol

Thanks Jenell!

At first there was no turkey red in it, but after I started to stare at the fabrics I realized it needed a serious POP of color!

95% of the fabrics are replicas from the 30s -40s. They came from a quilt store in another town that specializes in replica vintage fabrics.

Thanks Miki...

I wish EVERYONE would post photos of their quilt projects (in progress or finished!)! It's just infectious when you get to SEE other people's efforts and creativity! I just got done with jury duty today and of allllllllllll things in conversation (while waiting and waiting and waiting) this lady and I got to talking quilts. She and I brought in quilts to share today, and it was sooooooo fun! OMGOSH...she was working on one of the most beautiful crazy quilts I’d ever seen. It was a true work of art!!

Off for now... and thanks again for taking the time to post!

Hi Kirsten,

Thanks! Big Grin Yep...that was my FIRST quilt. I had not sewn in years..and even back when I did sew it was nothing intricate. Just curtains for the kids rooms when they were growing up.

The class took 5 months...and it about gave me ulcers...lol Each block was it's own class and technique. I'm so glad I took a class from a very traditional teacher because she didn't allow me to get any really bad habits started...AND...she beat the importance of an accurate 1/4" seam into our brains..lol

OMGOSH...I looked at your slideshow!! GEEZZZZ...your first quilt was every bit as intricate at mine! That Wedding Memories quilt was a work of ART and amazing!!! I hope the lucky owner of that was worthy..hehe Loved alllll your projects! Can't wait until I have more fun projects finished up! Also...what pattern was "Table cloth 1"? If I may ask! Loved that! Confetti

Hi Felicia,
Thanks
like you, I did my first in a class and my Teachers favorite saying was " well this seam is not nice. We open this one again, other wise you will look at this all your'e life and regret" I had to open quite a few seams. LOL Big Grin.
But we had fun in this class. I still meet up with 2 of the girls I took class with ones a month to sew. And when we are together we say that alot. And as far for the pattern of Tablecloth 1, I got it out of a German Patchwork magazin. But it should be easy enough to do looking at the picture. All it is squares and triangles.

Happy Quilting

Kerstin :-)
