Finally finished another lap quilt this weekend. It's mainly hand sewn and quilted, with the exception of the borders and binding, which are so much simpler to sew by machine. This one will be used in the living room, which is done in browns, blues and reds.

Now I'm ready for my next project!

Thanks, everyone. Now I can get started on the August BPS, once I gather some fabric. I may have to find something to sew by hand, though, for it looks like Tropical Storm Edouard will be overhead tonight and tomorrow. Being surrounded by these tall Texas pines, it will be a miracle if we don't lose power for at least a day or two. It's supposed to hit 102 degrees today, so I really hope we won't be without a/c for too long. We had a lot of wind last night that brought down a bunch of limbs so I'm hoping all the weak ones are down now and not a danger once the storm comes. Ever look up at the tops of 100+ foot trees as gale force winds toss them about? It will make you run for cover, then realize how puny the cover really is.

I agree, very nice job on the quilt. I hope you fare well with Edouard. I can relate about the trees. We don't get much in the way of tropical storms around here, but I'll bet it's about the same feeling you get when those same trees are covered in an inch of ice. Eek Snowman Eek

Keep cool!

Delia, I'd imagine it is the same feeling. We rarely get snow here but we've had a good ice storm twice in my memory. Both times we lost a lot of limbs and there were trees down everywhere in the surrounding forests. Edouard turned out to be a real bust. Instead of the predicted 5 to 10 inches of rain, we wound up with a meager 3/4 inch. Not a big help with the drought.

I love your quilt. What pattern did you use?

We are suppose to get remnant of Edouard today and tomorrow. For us, it is flooding that we deal with here in the desert. We had clouds this morning but it seems to be clearing up. Still have the rest of the day and tomorrow.
