"Exhibits will be held at the Tsongas Arena and the New England Quilt Museum. A $12 ticket, available at either venue, admits one to both for all four days..."
So this includes admission to the NEQM, itself, as well as the show.
Since I live locally, I will likely attend more than one day.
Anyone who might come and who would like to meet for coffee or lunch or such, please let me know ...
Pat

Hi Pat, Would love to meet you at the Quilt festival. I usually go see the world of quilts one but this sounds good too. I live in Maine just outside of Portland. Adir
Please let me know what day you will be here if you come to the Lowell Quilt Festival. We can enjoy all the quilts together and maybe get a bite to eat.
The Quilt Museum, Textile Museum and Tsongas Arena, where the Quilt Show will be, are all within easy walking distance to each other and there are plenty of places to eat. I will likely use public transporation to get downtown, but there are plenty of parking garages ... and the National Park Visitor parking lots are free ... here is a map of the venues ... http://www.lowellquiltfestival.org/directions.shtml
I have been quilting only about three years and for one of them I was not living locally, so this year will actually be only my third quilt show here. I am really looking forward to it. ...
... all the more so if I get to meet my new quilting friends from BC. ...
I am actually not yet a member of the NEQM ... not usually much of a joiner ... but I love it here on BC.
Do you mean the Mancuso World Of Quilt Show in Mancester, NH? I went to that one last summer and had a great time and plan to attend again this year in September. I went a second day to that one last year because my DD wanted to go back and she brought a friend, too.
I also like the Quilter's Gathering in Nashua, NH, that is in November.
Look forward to maybe having a chance to meet you,
Pat

Pat, I'd completely forgotten about the Lowell show!! I've been so caught up with my kids being home from school and all... I'll have to check the dates. I haven't gone in about 3 years. I took my Mom, it was her first show and she didn't know the "don't touch" rule. She can't see very well, so when she wanted to look at the stitching on a quilt from the 1800's she just walked right up and grabbed it. Since she can't hear very well, either, it was a minute or two before she knew they were telling her to let go of it. I thought they were going to throw us out! Guess I've been a little gun-shy since then.
I love the quilter's gathering in Nashua, usually go every year. They had something at Rivier College this past weekend, but I couldn't go. Maybe next year.
I'll have to wait for the kids to get older, I guess! I am hoping to get to Lowell, though.

Delia ... actually the Southern NH Quilt Show at Rivier last weekend was cancelled ... I had been going to go Sunday. So sad. I found the cancellation info at the following website. This particular Quilt Guild (I am not a member) has a wonderful calendar for events and information: http://www.risingstarquilters.org/events.html
Trina ... If you are interested in the history of the mill girls in the 1800's and you come to Lowell, you shoud visit the Lowell National Historical Park Exhibits http://www.nps.gov/lowe/index.htm ... also a very short walk from the NEQM. I have been there many times with family, school groups, scouts, summer camp kids, etc. The Boott Mills complex has a working weave room ... the noise is deafing when even only a few of the looms are working and they supply all visitors with ear plugs ... and exhibits, including textile designs, oral history, and adjacent to this is a renovated mill girl building which has a bedroom and dining room with period furnishings and an area where, if I remember correctly, there are names of the millgirls who have been documented. It is pretty interesting.
Anyone coming to my quilty corner and wants to try to meet up ... just let me know ... I am always hoping to have an opportunity to enjoy the shows and shops with a quilt buddy ...

Pat, thank you for the site. I had no idea how big the machine was that the girls used.I can see how accidents can happen. I hope to have the opportunity to see the museums. Both of them. Trina

Delia ... I did not know that the Southern NH Show at Rivier was cancelled until I did just that ... went to the campus and looked all around and could find no signs, no gathering of quilters, no pretty quilts.
I was quite dissapointed and exasperated. I had picked up a brochure for this at a Spring Quilt Show in May and had no idea it might be cancelled by July. I did check their website before leaving but it was down. Guess that should have tipped me off, but I chalked it off to a computer glitch. I do not understand why they did not leave the website up to say it was cancelled. If they hold this again, I am not sure I would try to attend.
Fortunaletly for me, it was only a fifteen minute drive from my home and I just proceeded to do a bit of tax-free shopping in NH as I do often on a Sunday.
I am really looking forward to the Lowell Quilt Show. Please do drop me a note if you can to let me know when you might be coming so we might say hello.
Pat
