I kind of do that now. I used to have everything to totes, but could never find anything.
I hung our old kitchen cupboards up in the basement and use the top cabinets for the stash. Maybe I'll tidy up just a tad before I try to take a picture! Talk a bout a mess at the present...let alone, the number of fabrics that have migrated north (to the sewing area) from there and need to head back south! Big Grin

Thanks for the link, Deb! I will have to keep that in mind - my cupboards are getting rather messy! But it will have to wait, I'm thinking, until I know whether we are moving or staying. I do have a few tops/kits in containers, but most is in cupboards (portable pantries)

Hi Deb,

yes that is great. I know because I used to keep my fabric in plastic boxes and never found what i was looking for when I needed a special fabric. When my Son moved down in the old partyroom I got my sewingroom and bought my self a bookshelf with doors. To make the fabric fit I folded it nicely. I now find everything easy.

Thanks for this link, I've found some really great stuff just perusing her site and the blogs of her friends too! It's like being in someone's house for the first time, so many different things to look at. Almost makes me feel naughty drooling over her stash.

I have a bookcase I keep my stash in. I'll store up to two yard lengths on the bottom shelf, fq's on the upper ones. I find it makes it much easier. WIP's go in the chest of drawers top drawer. multiple yards in the bottom drawers. I thought I put all of my I Spy fabric in the top drawer and I'm still hunting some I know I mislaid.grrrr!

Love the idea of folding it around the rulers...started doing it last night as I cut out blocks.
Thanks!!!!
