I have just found this thread and I'm blown away. Your quilt is wonderful Donna. I have wanted to do something like this for some time but have had no idea how to go about it. Thank you Janice for all the information. I will have to spend some time here later and get it all down so I can follow it up. Thank you ladies, fantastic stuff.

Thank you Melita. I sent for pieces of clothing from all family members we are close to and requested they send me a current pic. So the
border is their clothing with my fill ins and pics with their names and the state they are from and what the clothing was. It was quite a long process, but enjoyed it. Here is a pic of my great grandsons Attic Windows quilt I made him in the spring of 2006. I don't make mistakes, I make "Design Changes", some work & some don't Aiden's_Finished_Quilt_-_Back_50KB-_04-25-06_For_Album.jpg (46 Kb, 23 downloads) |

A year ago, I took pics for a friend's daughter's wedding. They couldn't afford a photographer so my hubby graciously volunteered me knowing that I wouldn't have said "no". Well, I didn't charge them anything for taking nearly 300 pics of their wedding/reception. My hubby made them CDs of the pics that I took. Anyways, I am in the process of making them a wallhanging using some of my favorite pics that I took of their wedding. It is ready to be quilted now and I also want to machine embroider some ivory roses on the quilt being that was what she carried as bouquet (sp). I'll try to get a pic posted of it when it's finished or at least get it added to my album.

I've finally finished my photo quilt. It's the one called "Cody-Gina's wedding quilt" and then a close up of the rose that I machine embroidered onto the quilt.

I have been looking at Ink Jet printers since I first saw this thread. I've also seen one used often on one of the quilt shows I tape, but I haven't caught the name of it yet. I'm sure it's rolling up in the credits and I'm missing it.
Stitch_one.. I have purchased quite a bit from the big "O" over the years and had good luck. That's a HUGE TIP TOO! Would have never thought to look there for the stuff! What types of printers do you ladies own? HP? Dell? Gateways? "When I'm good... I'm very VERY good, but when I'm bad... I'm even BETTER!" *~Mae West~* . . |

FYI-
I got this web addy off of my taped quilt program this morning for everyone. This is the guy who's constantly printing off alllll sorts of neat fabric things with his HP printer. There's really a lot of good info on this site about printers for fabrics, as well as programs for manipulating photographs. Worth a little peek - Joe Hesch "The Graphics Guy" Look at the left menu and click the last choice of "Products We Use". "When I'm good... I'm very VERY good, but when I'm bad... Thanks for the info! AFter reading that guys website I don't think I'm going to be buying a $500 printer/scanner any time soon.
I might try it with the my sweetie's HP...and see how it works. poof* "When I'm good... I'm very VERY good, but when I'm bad... I'm even BETTER!" *~Mae West~* . . |
