Ok...I was taping F&P yesterday and they shared a couple great little tips! Cheer

#1.
Put individual bobbins in those little 7"- 10" daily "Sun/Mon/Tue/Wed" etc etc plastic pill holders for traveling. You can even see the bobbin colors through the plastic.

#2.
Make a perfect purse sized sewing kit by putting your little scissors, pins...thread etc inside a hard case glasses carrier. They shut tight...and hold just the right amount for a quickie project. I got to thinking it would be very easy to glue a magnet strip in the top too for keeping needles and pins from falling out when you open the kit.

Nice tips, Felicia - I just happen to have several hard-case glasses cases. I am going to make me a sewing kit. Probably still can't go through with carry-ons at security at the airports with it, though, if they still take scissors away. LOL!

Glad you liked them Linda. Funny you should mention that. They did say "blunt nose" scissors. I wonder IF that was why? Hmmmmmmmm......

Will they let you use the Clover cutter that hangs around your neck through the airports? I'm talking about the round one that has the blade safely inside and you slide it across your thread for cutting.

Also, if you have tips (like the magnet) and F&P uses them on their show, you'll get a free one year subscription to their magazine.

Janic, wearing it around your neck they won't have a clue what it is! lol I would think it would be safe! I know some that get by with the folding scissors!

I don't fly so I didn't know what they allowed. I guess if anybody figured out how to get it apart that would be the end of that too. I guess it could be a weapon "as is" if you could get a good enough grip on it.

I had my nail-clippers confiscated...what did they think I was going to do? Cut the pilot to the quick?
Dental Floss in your bag is ignored and the little cutter on it works fine for thread.
