A while back, our local PBS station had a Quilting with Kaye and Friends show on that showed a lady making a jacket using a cutup sweatshirt that had been turned inside out....and then used bargello (sp?) strips in different widths sewn on doing a "sew and flip) method, so you saw no outside seams in the finished jacket. The end product was gorgeous.
I am thinking you could make this same type of jacket with any type of strip piecing.....just curious as to whether anyone else has made anything like this. Or whether a pattern book exists. I don't think they mentioned one on the show, and I didn't catch the designer's name. And of course didnt catch enough directions to do it the same as she did! I liked the look because it didn't look to heavy. I have made a quilted jacket in the past, but it has elastic at the bottom and makes me look like a marshmellow... ruth |

Here is a link to her TV shows:
http://www.kayewood.com/tvshows.html And here is one to her website, I think you can get to the TV schedule from here as well: http://www.kayewood.com/ I have seen jackets done her show a number of times; suppose because it gets cold in Northern Michigan! I am not sure to which jacket you refer. If you find it, let us know- it sounds plenty easy and quick! Good luck with your search. Thanks for the link! Here is the jacket/show I was referencing....
http://www.kayewood.com/onlinecat/fractured_bargello_jacket.html Looks like it was by Nanette Weaver. Off to search Google to see if she has other patterns too! Even on Nanette's website, it looks like that is the only jacket pattern she has. Darn, I was hoping for more! ruth |

That is way cool. DH's niece is planning a winter wedding. Done up in some glitzy fabrics- that jacket might actually keep me warm and well-dressed! LOL
