There's no quilting at all in the border. You're right -- I'll bet basting would have helped. I also considered not doing the double-fold binding -- less fabric to tuck in at the corners. The pattern is Madison Square from G.E. Designs, Iceland. I bought it at the quilt shop but they have a website -- gequiltdesigns.com.
I like that second one too. I couldn't believe how easy it was! |

I too would be willing to bet that it has to do with a lack of quilting in the borders/outside.
I've always had better luck with binding quilts where there is a good amount of quilting in the borders. Actually my easiest one to bind was Elizabeth's scalloped one! Because I had done what I call a "waffle weave"...basically parallel and perpendicular lines every 1/2 inch.... ruth |

Yep. I'm convinced. I might just take the binding off and re-do it. It annoys me every time I look at it.
