Just another thought on sizing v starch. If the project will be washed, it doesn't matter which one is used. If it will not be washed, (wall hangings) sizing is best. Spray starch will attract bugs and sizing doesn't. This might help in deciding which to use.

So Fran, ......where were you when we were having this momentus discussion? Hmmmmmmm? LOL
That is a very good point and one I had not considered. Why doesn't sizing attract bugs? I assume it has something to do with the formula or chemical make-up. When I compare the labels at the store, they don't seem that different. I think this subject is one of life's little mysteries intended to drive us crazy! LOL

Welcome to the forum, Fran. You sound like a knowledgeable person, and more importantly, someone who is willing to share her knowledge. We have quite a few novices here and some seasoned quilters as well. It is nice mix of friendly people. Have you posted on the introduction thread yet? That way everyone will get a chance to say hello.

I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend, til death, you're right to say it. Voltaire

I am a firm believer that the "quilt experts" all have to pay their sponsors, thus the product they push, right or wrong! But I still love new products and tools.
