Jami,
Your quilts are just beautiful. I love your round robin. Thank you also for the great site. I put in in my favorites & printed out the instructions for the string star.
When I go to Walmart, where do I look & does it come in rolls or flat sheet? Is it like packing paper?

Rebecca-
It comes in flat sheets in a box. The brand name of my deli paper is Kabnet Wax. The sheets are 10 x 10 3/4 inches square. I think they come about 500 sheets to a box...someday, I'll get them all used up! Big Grin
Do you have a resturant supply place? That is what Martin Brothers is here in Iowa. The box measures about 11 X 5 X 2 1/2 inches. The sheets are folded in half. It is made by Fort James in Norwalk, CT. I'm sure that there has to be different brands of the same stuff. I don't know if I've ever seen it at Walmart, but I never looked for it there. I'd try looking around the paper products.

I don't use Kabnet Wax for sewing, but I do use it in the kitchen. I bought mine a few years ago at Costco.

Does anybody have a GFS store in their area? They may carry deli paper. They have catering supplies and various bulk items, but their bulk items are in smaller quantities than Sam's or Costco. I don't know what the letters stand for but you don't need a membership to shop there.

Something eles that tears easily is the doodle pads that you can get for about $1 at the dollar stores, Dollar General.

It seems from the photos that everybody's sewing the strips at a 90 degree angle. I wonder if it'd look too scrambled if the degree of the angle is varied. Anyone try that?

I've made about 8 blocks -- this is really, really fun, and the scrap pile is dwindling nicely.

I love the string quilts and have quite a few blocks made. Need to check how many I have. I think they are 6 1/2 inches, 6 inch finished. I've done them both ways in the past, on muslin and on paper. I've found that the muslin foundation tends to get a little crooked since all of the stitching is on the bias so cutting it a littler larger than you want it and then squaring it up is a good idea. I'd like to get mine together and make a quilt to keep in the car to use for whatever. Frequently when we are traveling, I'll be a little cool but DH is too warm so having a small quilt along would be great.

AuntiePam...If it were off a little more to one side it may look like it were starting to spin. That's what I have pictured in my head. I may have to try that to see what happens being we're playing anyway.

I would love to see that Pam. Sounds interesting. If you get a few made up be sure to give us a peek.

Here is one I am working on, well it's a UFO right now but I will get back on it soon. I turned the 4 in the center towards the outside and just repeated from there. So it looks like a stack of squares.
