I am planning on making a photo quilt for my granddaughter. Does anyone out there have any great suggestions for the type of fabric to print or better yet not to print on?

I have used a pre treated fabric from EQ printables. It comes 6 sheets in a package and the it prints quite well with ink jet printers. The fabric is soft once done. Here is a quilt I recently finished for a client.

Hope this helps! Goodluck in yours!

Welcome, ladies I have so been out of the loop from visitng here for some time anyways, like mentioned from ECQLT that is the easiest method to go if you are not going to have to print a lot of pics and if that will be the case then try some of those fabric sheets that are ready to go. If you have a lot to do them I would suggest that you try the bubble jet method with some good muslin with a high thread count, this takes some time however it will save you from having to purchase many many packs of the preprinted fabric sheets, hopes this help and again welcome!!!

I use Bubble Jet Set 2000 to prep my fabric for printing pictures on. I generally try to find a high thread count 100% cotton (last time I use Kona cotton). I always wash my fabric first (habit, don't know if it really needs to be washed) then use the Bubble Jet 2000. Follow the directions on the bottle. I let the fabric set for several hours after printing. Last time I did it, I heat set the prints with an iron before I washed them in the Jet Set (retayne). I think that it may have helped with the color retention of the prints.
Hope this helps. If you have anymore questions, don't hesitate to ask!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

Deb-
No...I haven't read it. It says to use rubber gloves when you use it, so I'm assuming it's not good! Eek I try to use it in a well ventilated area also.
You still need to use the rinse stuff even if you do try the heat set. I didn't think I lost as much color the last time I did it. Maybe it's just in my head?!?!? Wink The ironing board is always up, so I thought I would try it.
