I am going to be purchasing a Grace quilt frame and need some tips for quilting on one, I'll be hand quilting if that makes a differance. My Mom, who has been quilting for more than 30 years, says she hates quilting on a frame becuase she can't seem to quilt away from her. I need to learn how (several small children and all) and was wondering if there is a trick to it or something?
Thanks for any advise you can give me.

I have one of these Carol. I love it! It spins so you never have to quilt away from you. (I never learned that either) It is supposed to fold away for easy storage but I have never put it away. It says no basting needed but I still baste because it just seems to be safer. Maybe on a little quilt I will try to skip the basting to see if it works out. The only thing I didn't like is that I ordered the biggest hoop and I have trouble reaching the upper right corner with my under hand. So if I had to do over I would get the smaller hoop. But it's so easy to move the quilt that it really doesn't matter. All the wood is smooth as can be and 2 years into mine, it's as strong as ever. Just PM me if you have more questions. I've not been quilting long but I will help all I can.
