Oh, i forgot to mention, the patchwork quilt I have chosen to make is being made from sheets, pillowcases, offcuts of fabric, etc. in purple/cream/pink/other spatterings of colours, that I purchased from a charity shop - all of them new and discarded by others and all made from cotton. Naturally this has kept the cost to a minimum for my first project, as I was unsure whether or not I would make a mess of it - and I hate waste. As it turns out, things are progressing nicely. The quilt will be Queen Size and made up of an 8" star block called "Sarah's Choice" which I found on the internet. I am machine sewing the entire project on my Grandma's singer treadle machine (she was a tailor and only ever used this machine for everything to earn her living). It has also served me well for the last 30 years and is still in perfect running order. I think I will need to either hand-sew the quilting or take it to somewhere to be done on a longarm machine....yet to decide. Well, that's about it for now, I just thought I should give a little more detail in regard to my first project so you have a better idea of what I am doing, - should I need more advice on it in the future. Speak with you all soon. Janet
