I had a brain storm for bringing quilting to a little different level...and I do mean LITTLE.
One of my patient's has been VERY VERY ILL and is in the hospital. She's one of my quilting ladies and she has shared several cute things with me in the past. She gave us a HUGE SCARE a couple weeks ago. I was sending her another “get well” card today, and it came to me that I should put a "LITTLE" surprise in her card to get her back to thinking about quilting.
I about went blind doing this...but here is what I tucked in her card today! hehe.. My machine did not want to grab the fabric on the edges for a tiny zigzag so I just straight stitched it...and put a tiny bead of fray check around the edge. If I had a tiny enough frame I'd just frame it, but then..... I decided I wanted it to fall out of her card to make her smile! Oh...and...it's a "Disappearing 9 Patch"...lol
It really is sewn square...it was just a bit lumpy and it didn't photograph well. We already drove the card up to the hospital. I sure hope she likes it...lol
Before she got really ill she made me an entire set of Native American hummingbird squares on her embroidery machine (several months ago). I just love them! Have not put them into anything yet, but they are gorgeous

True...but... I have not found the fabric to go with them. I'm still hunting for the PERFECT fit so to speak. She made them in red and royal blue. Those are some of the local tribe colors.

Oh, that is sooo cute and what a sweet gesture. She will know and appreciate the extra effort you put into her card/gift and it will brighten her day. Good on you! As they say here in England. Blessings on you and your work KimUk
It really wasn't that bad to make, but I did have to use magnifying glasses...lol I keep some strong specs by the ol’ sewing machine! I WILL do this again, but this time.. I will choose 3 distinct colors as opposed to the wild prints. She will KNOW it's a "D9P' because I just showed her some of my projects with them, but... the busy fabrics I picked for the itty bitty block last night kind of loses the tiny little pattern in the prints. I will do this again! It really was fun!
