Milica, What a gorgeous quilt! I am so inspired now! I made 3 or 4 blocks a few years ago and quite due to the debacle over the lady selling her quilt on ebay. Lost my appetite after that, but the photo you've shared has made me want to start again. Smile

Gerda-
That was a typo on my part. Jane Austin blocks were designed by Linda Franz, and are based on the writings of the author. I have no clue who or what Dear Hannah is. I have seen some information the rulers.

Milica-
I have no blocks to share at this point. I am still trying to navigate around the site.

So Kim and Deb, are you game for a Jane Stickle quilt?

Hm, I've never even heard of these quilts. Nice pictures. Is there a specific place I can go and read about them and what makes them special? I know, I can go google it, but maybe someone has a good link for me Big Grin

We had a DJ club going for about 2 years and in that time I completed 3/4 of the blocks - and then lost momentum. A couple of the girls in the group completed the whole quilt and some just made small ones with some of the blocks. I've decided to take the blocks that are complete and put them together into a single quilt - just to get them out of the way. It's a huge undertaking and most of the blocks are easier done by hand.

Here is a site that explains about Jane Stickle and her quilt. Just the sort of project you need for rocking by a cozy fire!

http://www.dearjane.com/

Brenda Papadakis also designed in the same style as Jane Stickle, a quilt for her granddaugher, Hannah.

This site is for Linda Franz. Scroll down for the Jane Austin blocks she has designed.

http://www.lindafranz.com/

There is also a Yahoo group for quilters who are making one or all three quilts. You can access it through Linda Franz's site. I belong to two other Yahoo quilt groups, this one I find overwhelming. If there is going to be a group here, I would be happy to join.

Meg, Dear Hannah was/is Brenda Papadakis' second book - I believe Hannah is her granddaughter, and she designed this quilt to be like the Dear Jane. http://www.electricquilt.com/Shop/DearHannah/DHBK.asp

I would love to peek at it, but haven't seen a copy around here. Oh, well, I have more than enough on my plate at the moment!

My bad, Yes the rulers are not a problem for me I have those too!

Milica
That is the most eautiful Jane Stickle quilt it looks so much like the original one. I would love to do mine pretty near to the original colors with the exception to the browns, those are just to much for me...for the time browns worked but I rather have more bright cherry colors with a tad of brown tossed in.

Kim
It will be fun to have you be a part of our gruop and those pictures will be a welcome beginning for us to see.

Dorian
You may have hear of "Dear Jane" but I think we will stick to just JS or Jane or Jane S. or Jane Stickle blocks (long sotry there).

Mary
We would love to see your Jane S. Quilt even add it to the album/s, please when we get it going.

Ladies
Kim has given us her stamp of approval or blessings if you will...so it is a go, the rest is up to us and what we decide we to do???

Do we want one large album split int divisions or personal albums? The decision is yours...

When do we want to start?

Do we want to make the same blocks as we go with each of us picking those blocks in turns or do blocks as we have time?

This will be an open ended project so that anyone can join at any time.

What other things do we need to decide on?

I have the ball rolling but this is our project not mine!!! You have equal say in this one.

Happy Quilting!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

I personally think a dedicated JS album split into personal ones would be better so that those ladies participating could post their own piccies as and when their blocks are complete.

My JS quilt at the moment is just a dream - it's on that 'to do' list which is ever, ever so long! lol

My friend Jenny has completed and quilted hers as in the pic I posted it was incomplete and it is absolutely gorgeous but then Jenny makes the most wonderful quilts anyway. She favours warm Thimbleberrie colours (She works for a quilting shop) and I'm not really envious! Wink
