I am making a quilt for my grandson and want to use 3" blocks with appliqued farm animals and equipment.

Can anyone send me in the right direction to find some suitable things. Thanks

Hi, and a big WELCOME from the farm country of N. E. Indiana! Welcome

Try searching for coloring pages for farm animals and equipment. Just do a "Google" search for "coloring pages" and it will pull of LOTS of nice sites. Many of these make nice simple applique designs. You'll probably have to shrink them to get them to a 3 inch size. Here's a site that seems to have some nice pages: http://www.first-school.ws/theme/animals/cp_farm.htm

Hope this helps.

Welcome, Ozifarmer, looks like the ladies have rallied for you like gangbusters with pattern suggestions! 3"? That's incredibily small! If your finished block will only be 3", then your applique will only be about 2" high. Please tell me that is a typo. Either that or you must have vison like an eagle; makes me cross-eyed just thinking about it.

I did go check out some of the sites mentioned here. Now I wish I had a little boy who wa into farming, they are really adorable designs. Yoiur grandson will have a wonderfully charming keepsake when you are done.

When you have a moment, please pop up to the introductions thread and share a bit about yourself. We love to make new friends.

Many years ago I did a barn/farm quilt and used coloring pages. Later on I did another that used the Boynton farm animals.
