I wanted to see if anyone here owns an embroidery machine and might be willing to help me make a few simple items? I really only need the ability to make block letters about 1 inch in height. If you can help me (I'll pay) please send me a message so I can show you what I'm looking to do. Big Grin

Thanks!

Jenn-

I also have an embroidery machine but am still pretty much intimidated by it. I have decided that I will begin to master it soon. If you still are needing items embroidered when my skills are improved, I would be happy to help you.

LOL When I bought mine (used) I didn't realize I was missing the disk to put in the computer so I can use the Dakota Collectables. Guess I will have to order a new one!!....but, I can do that!!! I talked to the Designer I people and they said that one should have come with the machine!! Once you start, you will wonder why you didn't start sooner!!! A Happy Easter to all!!! Wendy

I have a Brother PE150v machine. I got it for Christmas in 2003 and only used it that month to try it out. Shame on me, I know.

ONE of these days . . . If I had space so all my machines (Featherweight, Pfaff, Serger, and Embroidery) could be OUT in sight, maybe I'd use them ALL more. LOL!

Hi Jenn,
This response to your question is late because I just joined the forum, but I have a Viking Designer 1 and just love my embroidery feature. I have made many gifts using the block letters. If you still need help I would be happy to help.

Wendy, I have a Brothers SE270D which is the Disney Machine. so I have a lot of Disney Characters built into my machine.

I've used mine a lot. I also purchased Embird to change design size, thread colors and can also design which I haven't gotten into yet.

I also have Amazing Designs Amazing Box II which can change a design format to PES which is the format my machine uses. With the Amazing Box I am able to take designs from the computer, burn it to a format card that inserts into my machine for sew out!

Embroidery Machines are amazing these days!

Betty,

Can you explain Embird please? I have never heard of it. Is it the name of the program or the company? Does it work strictly in your sewing machine or in conjunction with your PC?

Meg, it works in conjunction with your computer. It is a software that can will allow you to edit embroidery designs, change the color or original design and print out your final design color picture and list of threads as they come up. Embird also has Plug-ins that can be purchased separately. I purchased it because it was affordable for me. I have Basic Embird 2006 which was $129. It is only available online thur Embroidery Dealers. I purchased mine here because they are in the USA.

www.jennabugdesigns.com has just started handling which is where I would have purchased if they had offered it.

Here is Embirds site where you can read about it. Like I said it was the only one that was affordable to me and also is known as the easiest.

Hope this helps a little!
Betty

PS. Oh and it is also a embroidery file reader.
Before I had my Amazing Design box I could not tell what an embroidery file was if a photo was not provided with file. Embird allows you to see the designs on most formats.
