Does it work with any brand of computerized embroidery machine, or only with Brother? it looks like it really expands your desing options. They keep coming up with cool stuff like this- it amazes me.

Hey Gals, I just read that word, "embird" a few days ago!!!! I think it was in a Cactus Patch design. It was a file (I think!!) that they put on the disk which allowed me to copy the files to a floppy without my own computer software. The ladies at the lqs thought that was such a neat idea and had never seen a disk do that before. Sure helped me!
Sure is fun to know about all the embroidery machines out there. Now we just need to see some designs we have done!! My baby is in the hospital right now. Just a check up and cleaning. I thought it was making some strange noises during embroidery, so I am having it checked out. Wendy

Meg, the Embird techs are very nice, you could just email them with your questions, I'm sure they will answer. They way it works is you download their free trial and your have so much time or uses before you have to buy it. I had Embird on my computer but since my new one was Vista I wanted to make sure it would work. So before I downloaded the trial I emailed tech. They were so kind in answering me and telling me exactly what to do!

I think it's for most machines but I am just not positive so I'd feel better if you asked the experts! I know they have all formats!

Meg, I do want to mention this for anyone interested in purchasing! I was going to order the program on CD to be mailed to me. But one of the ladies is my embroidery group mentioned to me that if you get the CD that's it, you won't get updates, but if you download the software from Embrid you will get updates!

I thought that was great advice so that's what I did. I have copied it to a CD for myself as a backup which they advise. Another thing that is unique in Embird is that after purchased they send you a file that has the permanent password that you save to your folder when the Embird is located. Don't know how but the next time you open your Embird the password is there! Every now and them I will open it and get a pop-up that tells me it's time to backup my password and I just save it to C Drive and I'm good to go!

I love it and I haven't learned to do much but I know when I get ready it's there. I want to purchase the build in Font Engine eventually!

Betty I am so glad you shared this info. I know we have in the past talked of it, but am thinking of downloading that free trial. Is the trial for 30 days? Just wondering. I may wait until I get some blocks done so my time will be more free to play with it.
You's so sweet to share it. Thanks~ Wink

OOO! the perfect thread for me to get my question out there.

My husband, bro in law, and friend all play on a hockey team and have a logo they want to have embroidered on some hats. The problem is that all the companies around here charge $100 a file to digitize it. Does anyone have a program that can do it. We'll pay we're just hoping to pay less. We have 3 0r 4 files that we would like to have done.
