I am looking for the pattern for the Sliced Pineapple Quilt Pattern designed by Dianna Grundhauser and Joan Davis. It won the 2004 Award in Maui, HI, for a group quilt, and is shown on the Janome site, but I cannot find a source for the pattern.
Gerda, can you please work your magic?
Otherwise, I'd like to find a pattern for a pieced realistic looking pineapple.
Thanks,
Linda O Texas

I know I have seen paper pieced pineapples that looked quite realistic, but I can't remember where. I went through the sites I had bookmarked, but did not find it. Guess you will need to wait for Gerda's special brand of magic.
I've just taken a look at the quilt in question and couldn't you just make up a block using either small squares or diamonds and then cut out the pineapple shape and applique it on as this is how it looks on that quilt. It looks like she has pieced 4 different shades of background together and appliqued everything else on with satin stitch.
It is a beautiful quilt and I can appreciate how you like it.
Linda O I just googled that pattern name and found that it is in the book called "Big Book of Best-Loved Quilt Patterns". IT is available from Amazon.com you can go to amazon and type it in, and of course there will be more than one available. Hope this helps you in the hunt for you Slice of Pineapple patter.
Linda, among my quilting magazines I have a pattern for a pineapple. It is by McCalls earlier magazines from the 1990s. But here are some patterns that I found in the meantime.
