Lone Star is also known as Star of Bethlehem. Here are directions from the Simply Quilts website.

Hope this helps.

BTW, Gerda, I was trying to find out if her first name was Penny? I think it would be so cool to say we have an actress among our members!

Hi, Pam,

Here is a Fig Tree Quilt pattern for a Star of Bethlehem which, since it is a Christmas pattern, it is on sale:
http://webstore.quiltropolis.net/stores_app/Browse_Item...e_id=23&Item_ID=4001

I have a pattern for a Lone Star quilt for which I just bought the fabric that I found in a book at the local library. I just brought it back the other day. Hmmm ... can't remember the name and publisher and I photocopied (shhh, dont tell) just the part that I needed. It is strip pieced, sewn, cut into the large diamonds and sewn into the star with solid bands on the border. Photo of pattern here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/22943809@N02/sets/72157603802511376/ I have found the library to be a great resource.

[Edit: Found it! The book was called: "Quick Method Quilts by Leisure Arts Books. Here is a link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0942237544/ref=sib_dp_p...-6756712#reader-link
This is a very good book, IMHO.]

I am really looking forward to starting this project. I have never made this pattern before. Just need to finish up my current one and make a baby quilt (never takes long) and then I am set to go on it.

<3 Pat
