There are a ton of sites to go to find patterns for the dresden plate. Here are a couple of good ones. The bottom one is Eloeanor Burns and should open, but I can't open it. Maybe you can.

Check this out: http://www.frommarti.com/dresden.html

These are templates for sale, but scroll down towards the bottom of the page. There's a small picture on the left of a Dresden Plate with a star shape in the center - is this what you are hunting?

Thank you both for your quick responses they were very helpful. Nola i couldn't see the picture but i think you are right and this is the type of dresden plate i am looking for. From what i have been able to gather from the sites that you both sent me to the center of the block is the orange peel pattern so i now have enough info to start the quilt or as soon as i go fabric shopping.

I am hoping someone has this pattern, either the magazine or maybe could scan the pattern for me. It is the Disney CARS quilt pattern. It's in the Fons & Porter July/Aug. 2006 issue. I have looked and looked and I don't have the book, but can't find the pattern. It has instructions on appliquing the wheels on it too. If someone has the magazine and wud part with it, I'll gladly pay for it, or just the pattern...Thanks in advance for all your help...

Meg, Jean mentions it in her post! fons and Porter's Love of Quilting, July/Aug 2006, page 46.

If you don't have it and want a pic, I can scan and e-mail it to you. Let me know.
