Hi, Kristi,

Welcome to BC!

Your applique blocks are just beautiful!

I am not an applique expert ...(in other words you are way ahead of me here ... Wink) ...as I would really rather piece that applique, but here is a website that I use all the time to find free quilt patterns on the web. It has a lot of applique sites listed:

http://www.freequilt.com/applique.html

Here is a beauty that jumped out at me. It is a 20" applique wreathe block:
http://www.compuquilt.com/blockimg/2000Blocks/20HeartWreath.htm
Hmmm ... I would love to make this quilt.

There is also a free BOM thread on BC here that you might be interested in if you have not already seen it. This is a gorgeous quilt:
http://blockcentral.net/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/9561069353/m/8841015953
I have this one on *My List*

Here is another website with listings of free applique patterns sites:
http://www.freequiltpatterns.info/QuiltCategories/FreeAppliquePatterns.htm

Hope these keep you busy for awhile.

I am sure there will be other BC quilters will be along soon adding to this list, too.

Happy Quilting!

Ok Kristi, I just pulled a stack of books from my bookcase - these all have large blocks, most are at least 15 inches square and many are larger. I bought the majority of these from Amazon.com at a fraction of the original price, so you might try checking there - or maybe your library would have them. I'll think about these, and there are some I MIGHT consider selling - if so, I'll let you know.

"A Garden of Quilts" by Mary Elizabeth Johnson - has designs & Patterns for over 50 flower quilts - published by Oxmoor House.

"Mountain Mist Quilt Favorites" - these are popular patterns that were originally printed on Mountain Mist batting wrappers. About half are applique/half are patchwork - large blocks. Published by Oxmoor House.

"The Country Lily Quilt" by Cheryl A. Benner & Rachel T. Pellman. Published by Good Books. A beautiful quilt with LARGE blocks - all applique. Quilt shown in several colorways.

"The Heart of Roses Quilt"by C. Jean Horst. Another beauty with a huge center medallion surrounded by smaller roses. Published by Good Books

"The Country Bride Quilt" by Craig N. Heisey and Rachel T. Pellman. Includes "The Country Tulip Patch Quilt"and "The Country Basket Quilt". Published by Good Books. Blocks are large and have flowers, birds, vines, etc.

"The Country Love Quilt" by Cheryl A. Benner & Rachel T. Pellman. Includes "The Country Bouquet Quilt". Published by Good Books. Large blocks, flowers, ribbons, etc. Beautiful.

"The Country Songbird Quilt" by Cheryl A. Benner & Rachel T. Pellman. Published by Good Books. 21 inch block with birds, flowers, etc. Center block is an antique-style birdcage - several different layouts. Another beautiful quilt.

If you want to see pictures of these blocks, email me at blueheron46733@yahoo.com and I'll scan some of the pictures and send them to you. Don't want to clutter up the forum with lots of pictures as they use up a lot of space.

OH - forgot to say "Welcome to the best quilt forum in the world". You also might enjoy a new quilt forum started by one of BC's own - it's called "The Quilt & Needle" - check it out at www.thequiltandneedle.com

In the new Fons and Porter Love of Quilting magazine, March/April 2008, page 79 is a two-color quilt called Floral Reflections which has a nice appliqued floral wreath design.
