Hi Gang, I saw a book called Lickety-Split Quilts for Little Ones, by Laurie Bevan. On the cover is a great quilt block of a square surrounded by a strip and a triangle...turning it into an octagon. Does anyone know how to make this block? I'm trying to 1. learn something new, and 2. make another I spy quilt and I thought this might be different. Thanks in advance! KimUK
Kim, I looked for the book on Amazon just so I could see a picture of the block you're asking about. My DD and I are going to a fabric store today and I'll see if they have the book there. If so, I'll either buy it, or take a peek to see if I can figure out how that block is made. I'm always looking for ideas of baby/toddler quilts, so won't mind buying the book if it isn't too pricey.
looks like a nice book. Sorry won't be able to help without reading the pattern. But I found a picture of the bookcover. May be Nola can help you with the picture.
Happy Quilting
Kerstin :-)

If we had the name of the block, I bet we could find a pattern! I checked the author's web site, there is a kit for purchase, different fabric, same pattern, but nowhere could I find a name for the block. Geeeerrrrrddddaaaa! We need you!
Hi ladies, Yes, Jody, that kinda' sorta' looks like it. I shall have to save the link and ponder it some more! You folks are great! Hugs to everyone for all your help.
Nola, it looked rather pricey to me! But if you happened to take a peek.....?!? Enquirering minds want to know! I can hear the music for Mission Impossable, can you?
