Lots of ideas, try looking on ebay, they have some horse appliques, and there is a TN Walking Horse, made with beads, but maybe they would just sell you a plain one. They look pretty real for the breed. Just thought I would toss that idea in. Wasn't sure if you wanted fabric or to do a theme block to build around. Good Luck

Have you tried using fusible applique? Blow your picture up to the size you want it and trace it on the paper side of fusible web. Fuse it to the back of your fabric, cut it out, peel off the paper and fuse it to your background. Then use a simple zigzag stitch and matching thread to stitch the edges down. Or another idea is to print pictures on fabric sheets on your computer. www.critterpat.com has lots of animal patterns, including horses, but I don't know if there is a walking horse or not.

Wow! Thanks everyone for your replies and suggestions! I am going to have my hands full with this project! Jeb~ No, i have not tried fusible applique but i like that idea. Suzanne~ i didnt think about going to horse town. the closest one is about an hour away but i go there at least once a month. I am about 45 minutes west of Atlanta waaayyy out in Haralson County on the Alabama line. Where abouts in GA are you? Felicia~I love that fabric! it is a must have even if i do not use it on this quilt! Well, i'm off to go get the biggest cup of coffee i can find and see what i can come up with. My brain already hurts!

ok everyone, i found this bed set on line and and it would be perfect! I know its a double wedding ring but when i look at a pattern for that its alot smaller. so, heres my dumb question for the day. well two questions... can i just blow the pattern up so it will be bigger and it still work? and how do i get the horse shoes and horse on there? sorry for the crazy questions!
