Google Yellow Brick Road quilt pattern. Any number of shop websites will pop up where you can order the pattern. I did not see any free sources.

I've never run across a free source, either. I made this pattern for my son and daughter-in-law's wedding - it now resides in the closet - guess DIL is not too keen on quilts. Maybe later in life.

I love Atkinson Designs' Yellow Brick Road pattern and it is well worth the $8.00 price tag.

I have made this a few times, including an oversized queen batik in which I sashed the blocks with narrow black strips and used a bright varigated thread in the black to outline the blocks when I quilted it. I gave it to my son. I don't think it goes in the closet unless it gets too hot in the summer. I know he has brought it home for me to wash it ... at my request ... as I have a large capacity washer and it just barely fits.

That is sad about the quilt you made for your DS and DIL, Gerda. I know you made it to be used and loved. Maybe she actually treasures it and is keeping it and is afraid she will ruin it if she uses it everyday?

There is a very similar pattern on this free site:

Scroll down to "B" and look for the "Brick Road" pattern. It appears to be a very long pattern, 24 pages, with very detailed block size illustrations.

Happy Quilting! Smile Pat

You could well be right, Pat! They also have three cats that are allowed in bed and everywhere, and besides, they recently bought a king size bed, so the queen quilt won't fit. I am not too worried about it - it's not in my control. It would be sad if it got wrecked or anything, but I don't think DS would let that happen.

And that pattern you gave the link for definitely looks the same! I looked up YBR fr Atkinson designs and compared them. I had forgotten about this site and all its freebies! Thanks for the memory jog! Smile Twin I sure hope this works for you! It is a fun and easy quilt to make, just keep the blocks laid out in the order you want, and lay them back in place as you stitch them. Have fun!! I want to make one in Christmas fabrics one day - the LQS (one of three within 7 minutes of me) where I bought the pattern, had made one up - GORGEOUS!!!
