Here is the first ever pieced block I made and am sending it to the Hokie Hope project. I thought it was important enough to try more than just the appliqué that I usually do. It is a very nice orange and maroon color block. Old camera doesn't show the color well. The pattern is called Rays-Of-Sunlight. Not perfect but a good start maybe. Smile

Thank you Gerda. I could not imagine doing a whole quilt with it though. I am just not a piecer I guess. lol

Thanks, Vicky! What a great site!! I never knew about that one!!

As for piecing, etc, we all like different things, and are better at some than others. Personally, I love piecing and hand applique and stitchery, but do not care for paper/foundation piecing - I like the look, but not the process or waste of fabric! It's too pricey! My favourite quilts combine piecing and applique.

Keep doing what you're doing.
