This is a non-profit Christian group that is working to educate children and relieve poverty in the western highlands of Guatemala.

It has been recently brought to their attention that many of the women's sewing groups they work with are doing their hand-sewing and embroidery without thimbles, because they cannot afford them.

These women sew to support their families and to earn money for their children's education.

If you have used, or new, thimbles, needles, and other sewing supplies lying around that you would like to donate, the address is below. Please send them as soon as possible, volunteers will be leaving at the end of the month. Thank you for your kindness.

I have included some examples of Guatemalan needlework in case you are not familiar with this beautiful and colorful genre. I have no prior experience with any of these sites. I am posting them only as examples of the quality of this work.

I may disagree with what you say, but I will defend, til death, you're right to say it. Voltaire
