I have a friend who has a number of fleece UFO's that she would like to add brown satin binding to. Wrights doesn't carry that color. Does anyone know of someone that does?

Could white satin be dyed brown? Never tried to dye satin but you could try!

What about looking on the internet for a very wide (3-4") brown satin ribbon? That's basically what satin binding is.

This website has 4" wide ribbon in chocolate & coffee bean: http://www.jkmribbon.com/swiss.html

Also try this websites:

If the binding is polyester satin, it will not accept dye very well. The ribbon might work, or try buying some satin fabric and make binding. It is not very difficult.

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.

Sorry, I haven't found brown satin binding, either. And like Meg said, it cannot be dyed, because it's 100% polyester.

Has she gone to a general fabric store? They might know, or she might have to make her own from some satin fabric.

Is this the site you were looking for, Deb? http://www.missingfabrics.com/

I'll keep looking as I have time, girls.

I found this, but it's in the UK http://www.calicolaine.co.uk/Web_pages/Haberdashery/Bias_Binding.htm they seem to have it.

So's this http://www.sewingchest.co.uk/view.php?p=458

It's odd that the UK would have it, but not in North America.

Deb , have you tried your browser "history". I save mine for a week and then I can go back and see where I've been! I'm so forgetful when I get in the car to take hubby somewhere I have to ask when I get in the car. If it's more than one place he has to tell me as we progress!

We used to have a sheet factory close by and you could get off cuts/rolls of satin binding fairly wide. They use to make blankets too. Have you of this type of industry close to you they may have some. Ours went off shore so I make my own now. Is fairly simple. Making binding for quilts is fairly similar. Cut and press the right way. Try a smaller piece first.
Cheers
