I am going to make a new baby alphabet quilt for a friend in Germany, and I need some 6-1/2" squares that depict the words I've come up with. I can "cover" some of the words from my stash, but here are the words that I still need 6-1/2" squares of fabric for. The new baby is a boy, so I'm trying for the "boy" things. LOL!

German Alphabet Quilt

D Doktor (Doctor)
I Indianer (Indian)
N Nagel (nail) Nadel (Safety pin)
X Xylofon (xylophone)

PLEASE PM or email me before you send anything, cuz I only need one word from each letter. I'd appreciate any help!

Thanks!

Linda-

I also have snowmen, an all-over gingerbread cookies, a couple of little whales and a duck dressed as a sailor. I also think I have trains and airplanes, but haven't found them yet. It has been so long since I sewed for little boys, this has been fun, like an old-fashioned treasure hunt- to see what I could find.

First we get recipes; now we are learning German! Is this place too much, or what?

I think German words are so much fun, they way they sound individually. They sound like the bass drum in a marching band. The Longest Day is a serious movie about a serious subject, but I admit I always snicker when the two big, hulking storm troopers come in with the "gummi puppen"

Thanks so much Meg and Trina.

Meg, Thanks for your long list. Betty is already sending a Bear, and I have the F (Fish) and Dog for H, but I'd love to have the mouse, pig, tiger, and either the duck or the donkey.

And Trina - Thanks so much. I have Fish for F and Dog for H and Duck for E, and but I can use the Apple. That would be great.

I'll PM you both with my address info. Thanks so much!

BCers are wonderful - especially when a call for help is put out. LOL!

I have always been interested in people who make me laugh!!! You can never have a dull moment with these people. And if you happen to have "one of those moments" then it's okay, they just laugh with you.
