Would you invite me to your blog "Journey 2 China"? I went to China last year and loved it. I was in Hong Kong, Macau and Jing Men. We were there for two weeks.
Thanks

I sent you an invite Smile I have been really bad about updating this blog as of lately, but I promise I will try to get better about it. I actually want to restart a new one but this journey started with one child and hopefully will end with one as well. I still pray some miracle will bring me back to the same little girl, but only God knows.

I would love to hear about your trip and where you went/stayed/did, etc.

I am not touching the cutting in hopes it will take. I don't need to move it at all, so if it survives it can stay right where it is for a good long while. Smile The stem is still green so I guess so far, so good. Smile

Thank you SOOOO much for all of your help and input. I really appreciate it!

What was that breed/type of rose mentioned a few weeks ago that is very hardy? Kim, you commented on it, too - those pages are long gone, and I have been wondering - I think it started with "H"??
Thanks in advance.

Gerda-

I have posted a my favorite rose supplier in Michigan. They only sell varietes that are proven for this climate. They are very big on Canadian Explorer and Morden Parkland Roses from Canada.

Thanks, Ned and Meg! I have saved that site to read later, Meg.
It was not a Rugosa that was under discussion - this was about roses that are easy to care for in difficult areas - arid, cold, hot - stuff like that - I'm 99% positive it started with an H. Oh, well, I don't even know if I'll get much of a garden going this year - we have to wait for mud season to end, before we can get black dirt and grass seed. I will just have to enjoy the wild roses that grow everywhere here - they are just gorgeous!! But thank you both again for the help. Smile You both rock!

Hi Gerda..

I think that may have been me...and I was mentioning "Knock Out Roses". I grow quite a few roses, and love them. When I grew them in Idaho certain diseases did not bug my babies, but over here on the coast (with all the high humidity) black spot, and powdery mildew runs rampant.

The “Knock Outs” are getting rave reviews!! As I replace my roses I will put these in their place. I love roses soooooooo much....but as I get older I want to simplify my yard so I can spend more time fishing, crabbing, digging clammies and sewing!! You’ll mostly see red ones, but they are developing more colors all the time.

Also...do yourself a favor and don't purchase any rose that isn't listed as "DISEASE RESISTANT". That rating really does help!

Hope this helps...
