Thanks Jody, I don't want much, just a couple of small pieces. I'll have to post some before pictures of my house. I bought it in October of 2006 and my front and back yard was full of 1 variety. It took 4 pick up truck loads to get rid of them all. They hadn't been thinned out in years. It was way out of control. I have a bunch of misc. plants from people this year so I planted them and we'll see what I have this year. I'm very excited.

FramerFanny I am so a garden fanatic and since moving from calif where I had a whole yd to plant and create to las vegas where I can't get anything to grow has been challenging as gardening is my therpy. I have already bought a couple lil starter plants for my new patio. I move sometime around the 1st and can't wait to pot up a few plants.

HAPPY ST. PATTY’S DAY!

Kim,
Thanks for clearing that up for us! I was fairly sure I had seen/heard/read the "green light" for posting photos, and a majority of the NHGC gypsies use Photobucket.

Bear... stop that!!! But...thank you! Funny I can grow orchids and African Violets like weeds...but I kill Basil left and right...lol Go figure...lol I love Basil too...lol

I will say that taking flower photos with a very dark background is way neat and just POPS the subject! Notice how much better the peach colored orchid (Summer Beach) shows off with the dark backing in the photo. I stumbled onto that by accident years ago when I shot this photo of my Nelly Moser clematis at night (it was still in the pot...lol). I was amazed at how it turned out!

I think the garden area is new! Maybe Kim knew she needed to corral the visiting garden nuts lest we pollinate the entire BC board...lol I do a lot of container gardening here because my ground is like concrete due to two ancient Cedar trees in my front yard. I do miss being able to dig a hole! My sis lives in No. CA...and she just about gardens year round! I hope you find your “niche” soon! I love moving and hate moving allll at the same time. Must be a Gemini thing...hehe

Moon..
Our resident photographer! TY! If you photographed my orchids they would be TWICE as beautiful! I only have one left blooming right now, and it’s a goofy time to be blooming. Try a flower shoot with a very dark back drop! I LOVE THE LOOK! Get a sheet of that poster board in dark brown or black and experiment.

Ok...off to get into trouble!!

Hugs to all........and poof*

MSplantladi so let's talk gardening. I got a cool pair of gardening gloves today at Target $6 a bit expensive but soooo cute. I also cut down a bunch of ornamental grass for Shirley. I wore out my old one sided electric hedge trimmer. I got it at a yard sale many yrs. ago for $2. It bogged down, quit working and started smoking. I bungie corded the grass and took off on them with the trimmer that is til I got to the last one and it died.
Pics of my gloves.

I am here today cause I didn't do any quilting yesterday!!! I spent the day sprucing up my plant growing stand so I can get my new babies started for this year!!! DH is putting a new floor in the potting shed so my shelves and growlights are inhouse for now. Much easier to clean up and repaint so that is what I did. Now I can move my babies (mostly butterfly weed so far) from the nursery into preschool!!! LOL I think I can do another batch of perennials before I have to start the veggie plants!! Everyone have a wonderful and productive day, no matter what you choose to do!!! Wendy
